Ultimate Ears Blast Review & Ratings: Design
Just like Boom 2, the Ultimate Ears Blast is cylindrical and t features a woven exterior capped with the rubber on the top. The Boom 2 and Blast sports the same size, measuring at seven inches tall and 2.6 inches across. This time, UE sharpened the speaker’s edges, and it makes a distinct impression. At the top, it has two buttons of power and Bluetooth and the power button doubles as an LED indicator for the Alexa Activation. On the button, there is a threaded insert for mounting the speaker, and it also works as an insert for power up charging dock. While comparing with other UE speaker, the Blast is IPX7 rated for waterproofing.
Ultimate Ears Blast Review & Ratings: Setup
Setting up the Ultimate Ears Blast is very easy. For that, you have to download the Ultimate Ears App, and you have to use the app to connect the speaker to Wi-Fi. Once the connection is made, you will need to log into your Amazon account to activate the Alexa (You will get three months free trial of Amazon Music unlimited). If you don’t have Wi-Fi access, just turn on the speaker, connect via Bluetooth and start jamming.
Ultimate Ears Blast Review & Ratings: Audio Performance
Despite its modest size, Blasts provide thunderous sound. While testing, the speaker doesn’t produce any distortion even at higher volumes, and it reproduces a variety of music with the impressive clarity. Even though it looks similar to the Boom 2, the UE Blast has slightly changed internal speaker setup. It features two 35mm active drivers and two 81mm*39mm passive radiators. While testing the two side by side, we couldn’t detect any difference between the max volumes of two side. Even though the highs and trebles aren’t as ably managed as the competing Bose SoundLink Revolve 360 speaker, but they’re a clear-cut above what you’ll find on the Amazon Echo or Google Home.
Ultimate Ears Blast Review & Ratings: Battery Life & Powering Up
The battery in Ultimate Ears Blast is very solid. Though we never got the full quoted 12 hours when playing the Blast at high volumes, it consistently lasted a full working day off a single charge. UE was also providing us with a Power Upcharge pad, as mentioned. The circular pad worked as advertised, managing our Blast juiced up at all times.
Ultimate Ears Blast Review & Ratings: Durability & Warranty Information
The Ultimate Ears Blast feels rock solid, and it should last a few years, minimum. The Blast is covered for faults in materials and artistry for two years. To submit a warranty request within 30 days following the purchase, reach out the retailer from which the UE was bought.
